About the Programme
India's Most Experienced FTO
Air Edge holds a DGCA Flying Training Organisation (FTO) approval and has been producing commercial pilots since 2011. Our training philosophy is built on safety, discipline, and airline-standard procedures from day one.
The programme follows a structured four-phase curriculum that takes students from zero experience to CPL with Instrument Rating. Each phase has defined milestones, progress checks, and instructor sign-offs before advancement.
Our fleet of 28 aircraft types includes both traditional steam-gauge trainers and modern glass-cockpit aircraft, ensuring students are comfortable with both analogue and digital avionics before they enter the airline interview process.
Curriculum
Four-Phase Training Programme
Phase 1 — Basic Flying
Circuit training, stalls, forced landings, and first solo. Conducted on single-engine trainers under dual and solo supervision.
Phase 2 — Advanced VFR
Cross-country navigation, night flying, and advanced manoeuvres. Students complete solo cross-country requirements for PPL.
Phase 3 — Instrument Flying
IFR procedures, holds, approaches (ILS, VOR, NDB), and simulated IMC. Instrument Rating qualification.
Phase 4 — CPL Build-Up
Long-range cross-country, complex aircraft endorsement, and CPL skill test preparation. Total 200 hours achieved.

All aircraft are maintained to DGCA CAR-M standards with regular airworthiness reviews. Average fleet age under 8 years.

Eligibility
Entry Requirements
- Minimum age: 17 years (PPL), 18 years (CPL)
- Class 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics
- DGCA Class 1 Medical Certificate (CPL)
- English proficiency — ICAO Level 4 minimum
- No prior flying experience required for PPL entry

40 hours, includes ground school
